At Pocket, we’re building the AI front office for rehab therapy clinics. Rehab therapy is a massive, but underserved market still running on manual workflows, phone calls, and fragmented systems. Pocket is replacing that infrastructure with vertically integrated AI.

We’re growing fast and backed by top tier VCs like 2048 Ventures, Underdog Labs, and more. Our first product, insurance verification, is already live with clinics processing thousands of verifications per month.

About the Role

You’ll work directly with the CTO, who brings 8+ years of experience building production-grade text and voice AI applications across startups and enterprises.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to ship systems that operate in the real world and not just prototypes.

You'll build across the entire stack, from React frontends and Node.js services to Postgres data models and the AI workflows that power clinical documentation, speech, and payer interaction. You'll own features end to end: interface, backend, data, deployment, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features across React, Node.js, and Postgres, owning them from UI through data model
• Design and integrate AI-powered workflows into the product, including evaluation and monitoring for the systems that matter most
• Develop test harnesses and observability for critical paths, both application and AI
• Model data and design APIs that hold up as the product and customer base grow
• Build and maintain deployment pipelines, contributing to our infrastructure on Kubernetes

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a startup environment
• Strong full-stack expertise across React, Node.js, and Postgres
• Comfort owning features end to end and making pragmatic tradeoffs under real-world constraints
• Experience deploying production services using REST APIs, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines
• Bonus: experience with Kubernetes, Python, or building on top of LLMs and AI systems
